John BLACKWELL Obituary

Passed away very peacefully at Summerset On Summerhill, Palmerston North, on Friday 28th July 2023, aged 78 years. Dearly beloved husband of Jean for 58 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Mark & Denise Blackwell, Dearly loved father of Kelly Blackwell. Loved Poppa of Christina & Gary Farr, Terri Blackwell, and great-granddaughter Aylah. Brother to Jill & Neil Boyd. Loved Uncle to all his nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bryce's life will take place at The Lychway Chapel, 5 Roy Street, Palmerston North, on Thursday 3rd August 2023, at 1.30pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Parkinson's may be left at the service or made in his name. Goodbyes are not forever Goodbyes are not the end They simply mean we will miss you Till we meet again

Bryce was a wonderful friend for many years, Jean also, and due to unfortunate circumstances in my life I lost touch with both of them. I would love to be in contact with Jean again. I owe them so much, and loved them very much also. They where two of the kindest people I have ever known. Bryce will be sadly missed by his family and those who knew him, including myself.
Over the years I learnt many things from Bryce, probably the most notable being a sense of humility and staying grounded.
Rest In Peace Bryce.
