Joan Wheeler Obituary

Joan Marie (LaCroix) Wheeler, age 93, passed away on July 20th peacefully, with her daughter by her side. The Lord decided it was time for her to come home.

She was the wife of the late Gale D. Wheeler for 76 yrs. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ernest W. and Marion Rose LaCroix.

Joan was happy to be a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, music and being creative with ornaments and decorations. Her passion was her home.

She lit up a room with her big smile. She will fondly be remembered for her kindness and generosity and gentleness. Her dignity and grace will leave an enormous hole that can never be replaced.

She will surely be missed.

Joan leaves behind a daughter, Deborah Anne Wheeler of Wakefield, with whom she lived with for many years. Debbie was her caregiver and saw to her every need.

Joan was predeceased by her sister Celia Gilson of Florida, a brother Edward LaCroix of Cranston. Her devotion was to her many fur babies over the years "Trixie", "Chloe", and "Casey", who eagerly wait for her to be reunited with them.

She was also predeceased by her grandson Scott D. Wheeler.

Joan's wishes were to have her burial and funeral private.
