Joan PARKER Obituary

PARKER, Joan Elizabeth
(nee Pinfold):
We are deeply saddened by the death of our mother in Dunedin on 29 December 2022. Born in Palmerston North on 14 October 1934, Joan was the daughter of the late Bill and Grace, sister of Don (dec), Cecily (dec), and Judy. Cherished mother of Fiona & the late Barry; David & Barbara; Christine & David; Louise & Max. Granny to Sam & Zoe; Ruby, Oscar & Molly; Madeline & Annabel; Zac, Leo & Evie. Great-Granny of Aika. Joan died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family, with the concert programme playing. Joan left school at 15 but along the way earned her B.Ed, LTCL, ATCL and DipTchg. She lived a spirited life as a violinist, soprano soloist, an activist for ALRANZ and many other causes. A keen gardener, home renovator, and traveller. Our loving and remarkable Mum was cremated in private, as was her wish. Messages to 34 Pacific Street, Roslyn, Dunedin 9010.
