Jimmy Gore Obituary

Jimmy Gore, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 13, 1944 in Sampson County, Jimmy was the son of the late R.U. "Dude" Gore and Cooper Honeycutt Gore. While in Sampson County, he worked in the poultry industry with Carroll Foods and House of Raeford. Jimmy and his wife of 43 years, Bobbie Caison Gore, moved to Cary in 2001, where they both worked and retired from North Carolina State University. After retirement, Jimmy continued to work as a Ranger/Starter at RGA Golf Course in Raleigh and at Christmas time, he worked with friends from West Jefferson, NC selling trees at the State Farmers Market. Jimmy was a kind, gentle and generous man. He simply loved life, and lived the days he had to their fullest. He was attuned to nature, and created artwork from materials he found in the environment around him, whether twigs, pinecones, tobacco sticks or golf tees and sold them each year at Christmas at the Farmers Market. He was a master at cooking and dressing a pig for the many pig pickings he hosted in his life. He especially loved his family, the beach and the mountains, beach music, shagging, golf, and watching his granddaughters play sports. Jimmy also loved Christmas, and his family is thankful that he held on to be with them for his last one.

Jimmy is survived by, his wife, Bobbie, his sons, Warren Gore (Jenny), and Jacob Radford Gore, and two granddaughters, Leah Gore and Victoria Gore, all of Apex and Raleigh, as well his sister-in-law Susan Caison Sharp of Beaufort, SC, brother-in-law Deems Caison (Nancy) of Clinton, NC, and nieces Mary Elizabeth Sharp (Ned Tupper) of Beaufort, SC, Katherine Anne Sharp (Brian Hann) of Camden, SC, Robbie Gore Williams (Todd) of Clinton, NC, Abbie Gore Smitherman (Heath) of Goldsboro, NC, and nephew Charles Gore of Raleigh, NC. Jimmy is also survived by, his former wife and good friend, Beryal Warren Gore of Cary, NC, who also enjoyed spending his last Christmas with him.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Abner Gore.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Transitions Care Team that provided such compassionate and expert care for Jimmy and Bobbie in the final weeks of Jimmy's life. Our special thanks to Kate, Ryan, Jamie, Jackie, Connie, Brent, John, Yana and Dee. Jimmy was always a pleasure to be with, never serious but always laughing and enjoying whatever he was doing. We were classmates at Hobbton and both worked at NC State, so a lengthy friendship. He was one of my favorites and I will remember him fondly.
