John TILBY Obituary

On April 11, 2025, peacefully at Ashburton Hospital. Loved husband of Jennifer (Burgess). Loved father and father-in-law of Andrew and Sharyn (Christchurch), Melissa and Warren Potter (Wellington). Proud Grandad of Lucy, and Toby Potter. Messages to the Tilby family, PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740. A service for John will be held at Our Chapel, cnr East and Cox Streets, Ashburton, on Wednesday, April 16 commencing at 10.30am, followed by interment at Ashburton Seafield Lawn Cemetery.

Some good memories of John was when we were riding our bikes up and down the Remutuka Incline at the top we sat in the shelter which we called Church and fixed the problems of the world Jim

Hi Jenny, so sad. Ran into John last year and he was enjoying the move to the south. Lots better than living on the windy Mount Marua. He was good company in Rotary, always good for a laugh. He was in the younger group, in thinking, mind and knowing how to have fun. Thinking of you, life is not meant to be like this especially when your partner moves on. Dear Jenny & family
So sad to hear John has left us all. Memories flow from those basketball days, the Jesters Team in the Hutt Valley. The trips away to tournaments in our youth. Then the team reunions at Petone Workerman´s Club.
Living now so far up the North Island, sorry couldn't be with you today to farewell John but will catch up when next in the South Island.
At peace now mate, RIP
