Passed away peacefully on 16th May 2024, at Beetham Healthcare Gisborne. Aged 100 years 5 months. Beloved Father of Lynette (Lyn) & Brian James and Jenny & Brian Hughes of Palmerston North. Husband of the late Norma. Loved Grandad of Brent & Lorraine James, Rose Bryant & Ron Gillies (Hamilton) Darren & Debbie James (Aus), Debbie Jones (UK), Wendy & Brent O'Neill (PN), Ian & Karla Hughes (PN), Owen & Lisa Hughes (Aus). Loved Great Pop of 15 and Great Great Pop of 2. Loved brother of the late Shelia Gerrard & Maxwell Smart Uncle to his nieces and nephews. Heart full thanks to Karyn & Rhonda for their loving care of Bruce over the later years. A service to celebrate Bruce's amazing life will be held at Evans Chapel, Ormond Road at 2.00pm on Thursday 23rd May. I was amazed to see Bruce´s obituaries
My dad Ernie Hollinshead knew him really well
I remember Dad having wonderful nights in the Haka room playing his trumpet
He certainly lived to a great ages
