He was a dedicated member of Federated Farmers and the National Party and he was especially dedicated to many aspects of conservation, Forest & Bird and of course your beautiful garden and home at Westoe.

Jim was a true gentleman. Always considered everyone's views . Ready to share his knowledge . Always a warm welcome and a smile. Remembered fondly.

We shared and valued a long and valued friendship dating back to our days on the Board at Pukeiti. Westoe will remain as part of Jim´s legacy. And Heritage Park will be his living memorial.

The New Zealand Rhododendron Association has over the years owed much to Jim´s tremendous and most valuable input. Jim led by example and his enthusiasm inspired all those who were privileged enough to meet and learn about rhododendrons and how to care for them at Heritage Park. He was not daunted by negativity.o
