Irene Detar Obituary
Irene T. "Renie" (Zaleski) Detar, 69, of Lilburn, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at New London Health Center in Lilburn. She was born Oct. 3, 1938, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Leonard and Josephine Zaleski. Irene was a transportation business owner and operated offices in Buffalo, N.Y., Tampa, Fla., and Charleston, S.C. As such, she has many dear friends and business acquaintances throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Irene is survived by her three sons, Donald J. Detar and his wife, Karen, and granddaughters, Robin and Jenna, of Lilburn, Ga., Robert J. Detar and his wife, Deborah, of Lake Worth, Fla., and Richard C. Detar, of Apex, N.C.; a sister, Wanda Zuzack and family, of Latrobe; two brothers, Ronald Zaleski and his wife, Alma and family, of Greensburg, and Leonard "Corky" Zaleski and his wife, Carmella and family, of Coraopolis; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth J. Detar; and an infant brother, Leonard. A memorial service celebrating Irene's life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Route 30, Jeannette. Following the service, close friends and family will meet at Pitzer's Restaurant in Jeannette. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 1915 Park Summit Blvd., Apex, NC 27523.
