My condolences to the family. I previously worked at his GP practice and we had many a conversation about the scones! I will treasure our conversations and also the book he signed and gave to us. Rest in love Nev, a man with a a heart as big as he was tall. - Carole

Dear Jeanette and family, deepest condolences on the loss of your husband and father. I have many fond memories of after rugby matches with the athletic rugby club in the 60´s. Many great laughs and memories. Love Maria and family.

Dear MacEwan Family,
Please accept our Sympathy for the loss of a Wonderful Man.
Nev and I were classmates at Nelson College and reunited at a Quad Tournament several years ago - we planned to catch-up, again at this year's tournament in Whanganui having been e-mail pen pals for a time
We had similar interests and enjoyed commenting on one another's
points of view, particularly matters concerning the Corrections Dept - Nev was more persuasive than me.
We will not be able to keep the appointment, of course, However, we are likely to meet again in the near future, hopefully, and resume discussions.
Rest in Peace, Old Boy.

We spent time with Nev at the Linton prison as part of a music group involved with prison ministry.
Nev was a gentle giant who had a heart of gold, a lovely man sharing the love of Jesus.
Love and sympathy to all the Family.

It was a pleasure to meet Ian on numerous occasions, who had such a passion, love and Joy for Jesus. He would often send birthday wishes to me, and my condolences to his family. May God be with you all and bless you during this season

Dear Family of Nev,
Sharing in your glad sadness at Nev´s passing into glory with Christ.
I first knew Nev in my late teens, as a rugby idol, Club Captain of Athletic Rugby Club, Wgtn, in the late 60´s. I then knew him as PRO for Palm Nth City Council as an angry antagonist to my zealous ambitions for a major Carols by Candlelight event in the Square in 1973; then from 1980 until late January this year, when we enjoyed our final breakfast together, I knew him as kindest, most encouraging, warmest Christian brother and friend. It was a privilege to call him a friend. To God Alone Be the Glory!!

A great All Black. I saw him play in the early 1960's.
