Ian JOHNSTON Obituary
At Ranfurly Care Centre, Feilding, on 12 July 2024, aged 76 years. Loved husband of Elayne and loved father and father-in-law of Mel and Chris (Wellington), Karl (Perth), and Graham and Katte (Sanson). Loved grandad of Stan Sarkies and Barney Bourke (Wellington); Kadir Low (Melbourne); Louis, Jai and Mahlia Christophersen (Perth); and Emma-Katte, Benjamin and Max Johnston (Sanson). A farewell for Ian will take place at 2.00pm on Saturday 20 July at Newbury Hall, 912 Rangitīkei Line, near Palmerston North. All welcome. Thank you to the Ranfurly Care Centre for their care of Ian and the warmth and kindness shown to his family over the past 3 years. I really enjoyed working with Ian at the Coach House Museum, where, as well as being a volunteer on the desk, he was tremendous with supplying the audio equipment for special days. His dulcet tones from radio days, were very special.
