To dear Margaret, my thoughts are with you at this time. In the years Huia was my father in law he certainly was a trick. I have always checked in to see how things have been in the many years since. He has been a treasured grandad to Holly and Jorja and has always asked after me. Which i respected immensely. Rest well Huia. Rest well.
To Sam, Rob, Nick, Brenda, Richard and all the grandies and great grandies much much love x

Huia and I were at Te Aro school school together and we met again almost fifty years later at a class reunion. Richard described him very well; " warm, gregarious and big-hearted ". I would add to that in saying he was generous in his friendship. Please accept my sympathy in your loss.

I loved you, Dad. You were indeed a Leo (warm, gregarious, and big-hearted). I'll miss your humour. We had some bloody good laughs. I'll also remember those bear-hugs you gave me at Palmy airport when I arrived for a visit. You weren't afraid to show your affection, and that's something I respect about you. I can imagine the party that's happening right now as you've reunited with loved ones. I'm sure Aunty Peg is putting on quite the shindig! My thoughts are with family in NZ.
