Dearest Rae, Barry and family, so very sorry to hear of Grants sudden passing, absolutely devastating for you all. Rae, your work colleagues knew how very proud you were of your son and his achievements, it was a privilege to share with you the life events, a wedding, the birth of your grandchildren.... I am unable to be with you today, you are all often in my thoughts.

Sorry we can´t be there to say goodbye Grant. We´ve known each other a long time and hadn´t seen each other much in recent years, but time and distance always disappears when you do catch back up and pick up where you left off. It was such a shock to hear you´d left this world so suddenly and so young. To Tracy and the boys, I can´t even imagine this week for you all. I´m absolutely devastated and wish you all nothing but strength and love for the days and weeks ahead. You´re all firmly in my thoughts and hopefully I´ll see you soon. Bye for now Grant, RIL

Grant was an amazing son, brother, husband ,dad, uncle and a friend to many that came into contact with him throughout his life.
I 1st met Grant and Tracy many years ago when he came to play rugby for kia toa senior 4ths JPs team.
This was the start of a family friendship that lasted for over 30 years until the devastating news last Sunday.
I have many fond memories of Grant from our years playing rugby together to the many family events as our boys grew up from baby's.
Grant was always there encouraging and cheering on our boys at school athletic and sports events and always lent a helping hand at the numerous fundraising events. Grant also found time to coach a junior rugby team for our former Kia Toa rugby club. I would always enjoy catching up with grant on the side line while he was encouraging his boys as well as others.
Grant was family man and a good mate and will be missed.
I am grateful for the last few days I've had with the whanau and the chance to say say goodbye to my mate. Kia Kaha to Tracy, boys And whanau.
our love and thoughts are with you on Saturday.
