Graeme HUGHES Obituary

On 5th January 2026, three days short of his 81st birthday, Graeme passed away peacefully, nearly 15 years after suffering a debilitating stroke. Much loved and cherished husband of Eunice. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Gina & Jeroen (Newcastle), and Cara & Paul (Upper Hutt). Cherished Granddad of Jayden and Arnake, Joel and Nikayla. Great-granddad of wee Delilah. The family would like to pass on their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the nurses/caregivers at Wimbledon Home & Hospital for their amazing and dedicated care of Graeme over the last six years. Also thanks to our many friends who have supported, comforted and helped us in many different ways, that have allowed us to better navigate life through this difficult time. We love and appreciate you all. A private graveside service for Graeme will take place. Messages to the Hughes Family, c/- 29 Beattie Street, Feilding 4702.

Our very deepest sympathy Eunice graeme started me off in Feilding host lions. He was a gentleman wonderful Lion who still promoted it after his stroke
