Govan DAHYA Obituary

Peacefully passed away on 12 July 2024 aged 92 years (born Tavdi, India). Son of Dahya and Dhedi Chhiba. Devoted husband to Maniben (dec). Loved father to Sunil, Bharat, & Vinod. Father-in-law of Sankutala, Susan, and Neela. Proud grandfather to Tanesha, Vinay, Reuben, Jesse, Nikita, and Chhaya. Dear brother of Haribhai (dec), Narsibhai, & Gajraben (dec). Respected brother-in-law of Dhaniben (dec), Maniben, Kantibhai, and Manjulaben. Uncle of Hansaben, Vina, Ranjit, Pravin (dec), Kamala, Prakash, Karuna, Jayson, Roshan, Pramila, Depeka, Paresh, & Naina. Our sincere thanks to the devoted carers Robbie & Brenda & staff at Te Hopai.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society www.cancer.org.nz/donate-now and Wellington Free Ambulance www.wfa.org.nz/donate would be appreciated and can be made online or left at the service. Messages to the Dahya family may be posted c/- PO Box 7123, Newtown. Wellington 6242 or left in Govan's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz where you can also join the service via livestream. A service for Govan will be held at The Bharat Bhavan, 48 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie. Wellington on Wednesday 17th July at midday followed by a private cremation. You are welcome to pay your respects from 11.30am. Sitting to pay respect will be at the family home in Island Bay, between 5.00-7.00pm on Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th July.

Govan was well thought of and family lovely to remember i was very young when meet i was the daughter of Barney Ruscoe ok he may have known as Ken came to visit and never forgot lovely memories as you would know years ago how could we forget barney passed 41yrs ago only 58years young my heart and thought stayed with me and your family deepest sympathy to u all
