I first met Gordon on my initial visit to New Zealand in 2014. We landed in Auckland at approx. 10.30pm and within 30 minutes we were in the hotel bar testing the quality of New Zealand beers!
On that trip, as in every subsequent visit Gordon and Chris have opened their house to us and, with Christine´s amazing cooking and Gordon´s very clear instructions that we were to indulge in the very well stocked drinks fridge whenever we wanted, made us feel totally and completely welcome.
As has been said many times Gordon had a great appreciation for good food and wine, and we were lucky to have shared many a good meal with him in restaurants from Auckland to Pickton to Birmingham and Prague.
Although Gordon had a great lust for life, unfortunately it did not stretch to sports that in his words used "the round ball" therefore I never fully converted Gordon to joys of Aston Villa Football Club!
It was a pleasure to have known you and New Zealand will not be quite the same, Rest in Peace mate.

My condolences to the Edwards family at this sad time. I met Gordon back in the early 1990s when he started Skywards at the Palmerston North Airport in the old flying club building. He then moved to the new Airport Terminal after completion. I worked at the Guardian Newspaper then later moved over to the Manawatu Standard. I did Gordon´s advertising. Lovely man, had a great sense of humour!

Gordon, Pixie and Christine were valued clients and friends over many years from not long after the beginning of Skywards until his retirement and our move to Napier. We are saddened to read of Gordon's passing but know that he enjoyed a very full and interesting life which we were privileged to be part of. Our condolences are extended to Christine, Andrew and family.

I feel privileged to have known Gordon during the latter years of his life. I got to know him through his wife Chris, a very close friend of mind, whom he obviously loved deeply.I found him to be a very kind and thoughtful man, interested in others and things happening in the world. Rest in peace dear Gordon in your eternal home. You will not be forgotten!
My condolences to Christine, Andrew and all your loved ones.
