Of Palmerston North. Passed away peacefully and amongst family on Friday 14 November 2025, aged 91 years. Dearly loved and devoted husband of the late Joan. Cherished Dad of Karen and Russell Phillips, Denise and Don Smith, Gary and Wanda. Treasured Papa of Vicky and Chris, Jason and Laura, Michael and Gill, Nathan and Renee; Sam, Hannah and Michael, and Matt; Morgan and Jade, Zoe, Amber, Morgan, and Luke. Special Papa George to his 15 great-grandchildren. Loved friend and companion of Shirley. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Heather and the late Des, Edna and Neil, Lois and Don. George will be sadly missed by many. It has been a privilege and honor to have met George at the Lane 6 mermaids/mermen pool where we girls nicknamed him "Kermit" because of his swimming attire. I will never forget your smile and sense of humor George.

George, like a few of his vintage, was a person that can never be replace.
His dedication to the community had to be seen, to appreciate it true depth and breadth.
RIP George
