George was always so much fun. When visiting Karen and Russell, I looked forward to seeing George. He recalled the most hilarious stories, and his mannerisms such as cracking a joke and sitting back in his chair with his squinting eyes laughing at his own joke, will always be a strong memory. He always had a lot of time for people, which is something I will always be grateful for and use as an excellent life example.
This is written immediately following George“s service. It is clear he lived a wonderful life, lead by example, and a wonderful person and servant to his family, friends, and community.
Love to all,
Chris Sinclair (husband of Vicky Sinclair, nee Phillips; George's granddaughter / Karen's daughter)

My late father, Les Wareing, and George were Lancaster Street neighbours and the best of mates. As two tradesmen I remember the projects they used to work on together, the many money raising events they used to support for the very early years of Highbury school, and the regular weekly meeting for a cleansing ale. Our two families were great friends and I know my Dad truely valued George's friendship. RIP George. From Sue Jenkins (nee Wareing).

George will be sadly missed by many. It has been a privilege and honor to have met George at the Lane 6 mermaids/mermen pool where we girls nicknamed him "Kermit" because of his swimming attire. I will never forget your smile and sense of humor George.

George, like a few of his vintage, was a person that can never be replace.
His dedication to the community had to be seen, to appreciate it true depth and breadth.
RIP George
