If you have ever travelled to the towns and cities around New Zealand for your work, you know it can get to be a lonely job. For me, George made the trip worthwhile. Our itineraries didn't always match up, but when they did we would make the time for a meal or a round of golf, afterhours of course. And if he was at home with the family, it was 'come round for a meal and a coffee'. A bed was there if needed. George epitomized good old fashioned values and a true sense of friendship. My thoughts now go Judy and her extended family, wishing her well in getting the strength needed to face her future without George. All I know is that he will be up there telling the lawn mower man, or woman, in Gods green acres the virtues of petrol versus electric mowers and the perfect cut height of grass. R I P George, simply the best.
