Gaylene (or as i knew her, Mrs T) was my and my friends teacher in new entrance 2015, we were talking about her and recounted all the wonderful things she did for us, one thing i remember is her giving me a blues clues stuffed animal, she will always be in my memory, thank you Mrs T

I´m so sorry to hear about this. I had her as a teacher back in 2010 and loved her to bits, she was a wonderful, kind and gentle woman and i can´t believe she´s gone. May she rest peacefully, much love to family.

Thoughts of admiration and respect come to mind when I remember Gaylene. An exceptionally kind and talented new entrant teacher who taught my son and also encouraged me in my teaching career. Rest in love Miss Thompson.

What a shock to read of Gaylene´s death notice. I saw her about a month ago when she was enjoying a lovely lunch with her brother at Boho Cafe. She was enjoying life and involved in lots of voluntary activities. Gaylene was an outstanding teacher at Hokowhitu School who gave so many children a wonderful start. She taught two of our three children and always took a special interest in their lives afterwards. Our love and thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
