Errol SLINN Obituary
After a short but aggressive illness, Warwick died peacefully at home, with courage and acceptance and in the presence of his family, on 14 March. Dearly loved husband of Margaret Tennant, father of Gareth Lawrence and Vaughan Slinn, 'NZ dad' of Tara O'Brien, and stepfather of Lisa Cherrington. Grandfather of Blake, Bodi and Esca, brother of Stuart and Janice Slinn, son-in-law of Coral and the late Barrie Belk. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses involved, in their different ways, in Warwick's care from time of diagnosis until he drew his last breath. Donations in Warwick's memory may be made to Arohanui Hospice online at arohanuihospice.org.nz Messages for the Slinn family, c/- PO Box 5191, Palmerston North 4441. A service for Warwick will be held in Cotton's Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Tuesday 19th March 2024, at 10.30am.

So sad to hear of Warwick's passing, he was Influential in my student days under him at Massey, and he helped me in my time at Melbourne Uni. A unique soul, he unveiled Robert Browning's poetry of experience to all who were lucky enough to study under him. The ring and the book are now laid to rest with Warwick

I am full of sorrow to hear of Warwick's death. Warwick was in the English Department and I was in the History Department on the same floor at Massey and when he arrived I greatly admired his sharp intellect and his quiet charm. And later he brought great happiness to my colleague Margaret.
