I had the pleasure of meeting Beth just once, when she visited the UK in June 2008 to carry out her late husband's wish that half his ashes be laid to rest next to his Adkins ancestors' graves at the parish church in Weston-on-Avon, close to Stratford -upon-Avon. I send my deepest sympathy to your family. Beth was my first piano teacher as a 5 year old. I remember going to Benson Road for lessons. It was shortly after Best came back after living in the UK for a time. Beth then taught me piano again at secondary school. She introduced me to some lovely musicals while she was teaching at Nga Tawa. They were a high light in the school year. I sang in the choir at Beth and Dick´s wedding. It was a lovely experience. She was a huge influence on my music education which has been with me ever since. Olwyn Pezaro
