Sr Emmanuel taught me in 3B1 in 1960 and 4A in 1961. She started my interest in Oratory and debating, which contined on to public speaking. She became a dear friend, visited my home and we corresponded/ emailed each other annually until Christmas 2023, when she did not respond to my letter , and card. RIP sr Eileen , Thank you as you changed my focus on life when you taught me.

Sr. Emmanuel was my 4th Form teacher in 1961 at St Mary's. In particular, she taught me Latin, which came in very handy when I travelled around Europe twenty years later. R.I.P., Sister, I remember you well from that year.

Condolences, love and prayers to the Sisters of Mercy and Eileen's family. She was always very friendly and welcoming when I met her. We shared some interesting evenings in the kitchen of the old St Mary's Boarding School many years ago now. Rest in Peace Eileen.
