Edwin J. Oechslin of Louisville entered Eternal Life on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024.
Ed was born in Louisville to the late Edwin Benedict and Josephine Kaelin Oechslin, where he cultivated his work ethic on the family farm. He was the owner and founder of Quality Electric Motor Service in Lyndon. Ed was a member of Church of the Ascension, the Gruetli Helvetia Society and Swiss Charity. Ed was a veteran of the United States Army.
Ed is preceded in death by his first wife; Mary Jean Oechslin, second wife; Joann Hayes Oechslin, daughter-in-law; Alice Oechslin, her parents, sister; Loretta Nichter, and brothers-in-law; Bobby Brooks and William Nichter.
Carrying on Ed's legacy are his children; Denise Hill (Michael), Kevin Oechslin (Chris) and Lori Oechslin, step-children; Vickie Hayes, Larry Hayes (Suzanne) and Rich Hayes, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, siblings; Margaret Brooks, Rita Williams (Ronnie), Richard Oechslin (Brenda) and Jean Oechslin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ed will be from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 at Church of the Ascension, 4600 Lynnbrook Drive in Louisville. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or WHAS Crusade for Children. Condolences may be shared at Ratterman.com.
