I got to know Duncan when we moved to Waimate in 1988. He made us feel very welcome and I developed a good working relationship with him when at ANZ and Trust Bank. I really appreciated his thoroughness, sense of humour, open and friendly manner, he was a true gentleman and a man I had great respect for.
My deepest condolences to the family.

So sorry to hear of Mr Walker's passing (I had the utmost respect for him I could never call him by his first name).
Through many years of dealing with Walker's & Co in Waimate with working in the ANZ.
Also assisting me as my lawyer, a true gentleman who reminded me so much of my grandfather with his mannerisms.
It was a privilege to have known him and his wicked sense of humour. My thoughts are with you all at this time. RIP such a lovely man

It was with deep regret which we learned of the passing of Duncan. He was a person of the highest integrity in his profession and advice given was always well thought out from every angle. Many a time I was late home from Lions Board meetings at the Fire Station where Duncan really enjoyed playing pool till the late hours!! We will remember his great humour,a true gentleman.

I was lucky to work with Duncan for many years in various Law firms in Waimate. Among his many attributes was his thoroughness, a thoroughness that allowed all of his clients to know that every possibility had been considered. And I, along with all our co-workers never ceased to be amazed at the "west-coaster' regaling us with stories about life and people on the Coast. Von, Helen, and Duncan (the younger) I feel privileged to have known him.
