Aged 81 years. A sudden passing, surrounded by his loving family on 15/11/2024. Deeply loved husband of Helen. Proud and loving Dad to Alex and Phil, Father-in-law to Paula and Belle, Grandpa to Ella, Sophia, Florence and Olivia. You will be sadly missed by your family. As per Douglas' wishes a private service with family has been held.
In our hearts forever.

To the Dron family,
I am sorry to hear of Doug's passing. My father, C.C. Aitken, first set up in business in 1947. Knowing Frank Opie, he acted as Dad's solicitor. Later known as Opie & Dron, the firm acted for all our family affairs, later including our move to Auckland in 1989. I have occasionally called in to see Doug at work and enjoyed a quiet chat when down in Palmerston North. I will miss that.
