Donald Patrick (Don):
Of Palmerston North. Passed away peacefully on Monday 5th December 2022. Aged 77 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Alyn and Tracey, and Colin and Bridget. Adored Grandad of Milly. Special friend of Margaret. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Jim and Judith, and David and Judith. In lieu of flowers, a donation made to St John would be appreciated and may be left in the church foyer. A service to celebrate Don's life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Shamrock Street, Palmerston North, on Tuesday 13 December 2022 at 1.00pm, followed by interment at Kelvin Grove Lawn Cemetery. Don was the neighbour to my mother Dotty and step father Bruce Gunn for over 25 years, our sincere condolences for your loss. Don was simply a great friend to us all. Don was particularly kind when Bruce passed and kept an eye on Dotty helping with keys or making sure the place was safe if we all went out or away. We would admire his can collection wondering how long it took him to collect these, and wondered whether he actually crushed them with his bare hands. We thought he was a strong man! So good bye Don and thanks for your time you spent with Dotty and Bruce Gunn and Annette Schuh
