I have very fond memories of Denys when we worked together at Colliers in Palmerston North in the early 2000s. That smile, and the twinkle in his eyes, the jokes, and just being a good soul to everyone he met. Sincere condolences to his family.

Denys was my very first boss in 1980. He owned and ran Denys Nichols' Real Estate on Rangitikei Street. He was a wonderful man, and he and Pamela were very kind people. I unfortunately lost touch with them in the following years, but I will never forget them, and often thought about what they were doing. RIP Denys, and condolences to the whanau.

I wish to send condolences to the Nichols family in the passing of their loved father and grandfather Denys. I met Denys in Janurary this year on the Moa Southern Odyssey tour to the bottom of the South Island and Rakiura Stewrt Island. I had occasion to sit next to him on the bus a few times as we toured and he was always great company. Denys had a great sense of humour and had the whole tour bus laughing with his dad jokes, lad jokes and occasional bad jokes! He spoke fondly of his sons and all his family and his dear wife Pamela who had recently passed away. I am sad to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace dear Denys.
