Dawne delivered my children. She was loved by us and I often wondered about her. Sorry for your loss. Always know she was well loved. Hugs x

I have just been informed that Dawne had passed away earlier in the month. I like many had the pleasure of working with Dawne at the Palm Nth Hospital. A great person in all aspects of her life. RIP my friend.

Dawne was a wonderful mentor to me as a newly graduated midwife. In later years we worked together providing shared care.
Dawne you were such fun and held the best parties.

So sorry to read of Dawne´s death. I worked with her in Palmerston North hospital in the 70s, and we remained friends always. I enjoyed long phone conversations with her, showing her around Christchurch post quake, visiting for her 80th, visiting for a dinner cooked by her in Manawatu 2021. I will miss her friendship. My condolences to Colin, Nigel, Craig and families.

Thank you Dawne for being the best midwife for first time parents. We felt so safe with you and you became a part of our family for those exciting and terrifying few months. Rest now in peace.

A very special Aunty and friend. I have a heap of lovely memories from when I was very young to today. Dawne loved make clothes for girls, and as she only had sons, I was spoiled rotten. I will always remember the wonderful holidays we had with the Perks family. Dawne started her midwifery training in Wellington when I was a student nurse in Lower Hutt. We had some lovely catchup.

Dawne helped deliver our first child. She spent all day with us in Hospital and it happened to be her 60th Birthday. We are forever grateful for all the help she gave us. She was a wonderful lady. Our daughter shares her birthday.

Dawne was our wonderful midwife for our three children. She looked after us so well and became a friend. We'll be forever grateful to have known her. Rest in peace Dawne and condolences to her family who she loved dearly.

Dawne was a very special midwife who always went above and beyond in her duties as a midwife.S
She was our Midwife for both our children and delivered our son by herself as the Dr didn´t make it in time. Dawne always made you feel so special. Living close by in Palmerston North we often would bump into each other. She always remembered who we were.
A truly amazing woman who will always have a special place in our hearts.

Very sorry to hear of Dawn´s passing. I worked alongside her for many years, always the kind focused professional and decisive midwife.
It was a great pleasure to have her to care for the later birth of my son, where she was so mother focused and clinically adept.

A Neighbour and midwife to our family. We have fond memories of walking past your home and seeing dozens of eggs that had rolled down onto the road from a hidden nest that naughty chooks had laid.

I had the privilege of having Dawne as my midwife with my first baby in 1999/2000. Dawne was a highly recommended midwife who was extremely capable, caring, supportive and nurturing. Thank you Dawne, rest in peace.

Dawne was a great nurse and midwife. She was bold and right up with the play in her practice. She didn´t stand on ceremony. I loved working with her. Her husband, Bob was also a lovely man with a great sense of humour. They were so proud of their family, especially Craig who did so well in his sport of golf.
Dawne pierced my ears in her caravan/clinic on her property when she lived in the Clyde Crescent area. I was 18, and had been nursing for 6 months. That was 49 years ago, and the pierced ears have done me well!
She will be missed so much, especially by her family.

RIP Dawne. I was privileged to work with Dawne a lot while doing my maternity endorsement in 1973. Then in 1975 while in a cyntocian labour with my son I was never so happy to see anyone as I was when Dawne came on duty as she immediately realized I was heading for uterine inertia and vamped the drip up until I was simply one continuous contraction that ultimately delivered my son. She was an exceptional midwife and I was and always will be grateful to her.

So sad to read the news of your passing. 15+ years doing your hair. Many stories shared about your family, gardening and chickens. The chocolate tart you always made on my birthday was amazing!! Once you went to Nelson we lost touch. Condolences to your family Tania

sad to hear this news. Like many of the other comments, Dawne delivered my daughter into this world in 1995. Her calming influence believe me was very much appreciated by ME at this time. She had a special "bedside manner" that I will always remember...sadly missed

I am so sad to read this. Dawne was an amazing woman and I am so grateful to her and her loving support with all 3 of my children. I would have loved to see you here in Nelson but Nigel always made sure he kept me up to date with how you were when he came into work. It won´t be the same now. But it is special that you moved here eventually as I know you loved Nelson.
