Dear Larraine and family,
I just learned of Dave's sad passing and wanted to express my condolences.
He was a wonderful man who was full of life. I enjoyed working with him for many years at Palm Nth City Council. He contacted me just a few years ago to see if I was okay after major surgery and showed he still kept in touch with many in Palmerston North. A caring loving man who will always be remembered.

Dear Larraine and family,
We are saddened to hear of Dave's passing. While it's been many years between catching up with each other, whenever we did it always seemed like only the other day we last met. I valued Dave's friendship and professionalism while working at PNCC and appreciated his competitiveness and banter on the golf course.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Dear Larraine and family.
My fond memories of Dave go back to a cohort of young bright eyed valuers in the Wellington Valuation Department, 1971-72. Boy, did we know the value of everything! He was a kind and thoughtful person back then and remained just the same many years later when we worked closely together in Palmerston North.
He had a happy and reassuring nature that made people feel confident and good about themselves. He had the magic touch.
I used to catch up with you, Larraine, at around Christmas time for several years. Those too are special memories.
Rest in Peace, Dave Marriott.

" Those were the days.."
Dave, Mike, Tony and I ( Geoff) flatted in our Rolleston St abode and it was a wonderful time in our lives.
Dave, the accomplished all round sportsman, and Mike the rugby player, whilst Tony `soaked up the atmosphere´ at the TAB! We had a VW club, our shooting competition and other forms of mischief.
Thankfully Mrs Marriott was a great cook , regularly sending food parcels.
In vocation, Dave was a conscientious, honest and competent valuer, whom I´m proud to have called a friend. His contributions to the community through church and other services were considerable.
Deepest condolences to Larraine and the family.
Geoff Blackmore - and Janet.

Dear Larraine and family,
I was shocked to read of David´s passing. I did not know you had moved south again, or that he was unwell.
My late husband Dave and I worked with David ( we knew him as Dave) in the Valuation Department in Invercargill. He was our boss when he was Urban District Valuer.
We met you occasionally at social functions. I recall David speaking fondly of Fraser and Nicola.
You moved to Palmy, and it wasn´t until we moved here in 1997 that Dave and David made contact again through work.
The last time I saw David was at my Daves funeral in 2010. He hadn´t changed a bit. I will always remember his dry sense of humour and happy persona.
Thinking of you at this sad time. I know he will have left you and the family with a load of wonderful memories. Take care as you navigate a different life without him.
Love and hugs

Dear Larraine and family,
This is such a shock for me. You did say earlier in the year Larraine that you would be in Palmerston North at some stage to visit your sister and we have been so looking forward to seeing you both. Working with Dave as my Manager were the best days of my working life. Steve McCarroll, Dave and myself were the Property Office staff and we were envied by the rest of the Planning floor because of the way we worked together and were always so happy and willing to help.

If you are in Palmerston North Larraine please do call in to see Tony and myself. You and Dave will always be in my memories.

Love to you and your family.
