David KIRK Obituary

1957 - 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Richard Kirk, a man whose life was defined by kindness, service, and unwavering love. A beloved father to Stacey and Tansy, son to Myra and Noel, and brother to Fiona and Stephen, David was the epitome of human decency. David remained a devoted and caring friend to his former wife, Fenn. His dedication to his family and his community shone through in every role he embraced - from his service as a policeman and in the Air Force to his commitment to the people around him. A man of few words but immense love, David's strength was in the quiet care he gave to those he cherished. His legacy of selflessness will forever be felt by all who knew him, and he leaves behind a deep well of love, compassion, and devotion.

Kirky, a very sad day saying goodbye yesterday, gone way too soon, a top guy, a mans man, didnt suffer fools but always had a smile, flew a few missions with Dave and always had fun doing so, remember flying into his place on a SAR PR flight, stayed the night, he fed us up on Paua, crayfish, venison, wild pork, he was the host supreme, RIP Kirky.

I worked with Dave many times over the years. After helping him out he would often say "Y'know, there's not too many of us good buggers around anymore". Now we mourn for the best of them all. Go well Kirky. Sincere condolences to all who will miss him.
