Thank you to everyone who attended our father´s funeral service yesterday 6th January 2024.
The grief we have was shared by many and we were so grateful for your presence at his service.
I would like to acknowledge Shane and Clive who made a difficult day more bearable with their professionalism and care, you both made this very sad time more bearable and we will be forever grateful.
To my husband Nick and daughter Scarlett, who have supported me throughout this loss from the moment I learned of Dads passing, thank you, I love you both so much.
My husband shared a poem he found for me to help me through this grieving process that I would like to share here, I hope it brings some comfort to you as it did to me..
God´s Garden
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God´s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting roughAnd the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, `Peace be thine´.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn´t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
Rest Easy Dad
Love you Always

I think back to our fishing trips, running on the beach and the camping, I remember how house proud you were, the time you spent on the garden, the lemon tree and the grapevines...
How you watched us play rugby and would take us swimming, holding onto your arms full of strength, the same arms that would carry me to bed....
Our family times around the dining table and woodcutting on a Saturday morning.....
I remember you walking us into town on a Sunday evening for ice cream and the laughter and good times our family shared....
But most of all I remember my father, full of pride, humble, and quiet who provided for all of us and is loved and missed by all the family...
I will always love you Dad.
