Cecil Furner (Ces): Ex NZR
In his 98th year. 'At peace'. On Sunday 10th January 2021 at Palmerston North Hospital. Loving and adored husband of the late Audrie. Dearly loved father of Patricia and Noel Jellyman, Sandra and Cameron Hood, John and Julie, Paul and Judith, Carol, Debbie and Lindsay Johnston, Bruce and Darlene. Loving Gramp to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the OPAL Unit Palmerston North Hospital. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart Foundation, which may be left in the Chapel foyer. Messages to the Richardson family, c/- PO Box 5191, Palmerston North 4441. A service to celebrate Ces's life will be held in the Terracehaven Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Thursday 14th January 2021, at 1.00pm.

It was sad to hear of Cec's passing here in Perth. WA, I first met him way back in the early sixties at the PN locomotive depot. For me as a young man just joining the railways Cec was a man to be respected and admired. Always willing to give advice to us young fellows...sympathy to all the family...a legend of the rails gone...
