Barbara, I was sorry to see that Brian had passed away. It has brought back memories of Naenae and the times I spent with him and John. There were the occasional catch up at the Tauherenikau Races. Although we lost contact in latter years I still think of those old days.

My sincere condolences to Brian's family. We worked together at Soil Bureau, DSIR. Brian was always helpful, friendly and had a warped(!) sense of humour which I enjoyed immensely - a great workmate to have around.

I have fond memories of Brian from our time together on the ASPAC committee in the 90s. A warm, jolly and compassionate man.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Brian. His voluntary contribution to the Australasian Soil and Plant Analysis Council was enormous and he was the main reason for the A in ASPAC, changing from Australian to Australasian. Brian served on various committees over at least 10 years, and I had the pleasure of linking with him closely on a couple of these. He was a good friend and will be sadly missed.
