SOUTH, Brent (Bert):
Not long after his 65th birthday, Bert passed away after a long battle surrounded by family at the South Canterbury Hospice, on February 11, 2018. Loved son of the late Doug and Amy South (Temuka), husband and best friend of Dot, loving father and father-in-law of Karen, Jolene (Jo) and Mike Skelton, Josh (Jock) and Tania (Tanz), loved brother and brother-in-law of Wayne (Tubs) and Lyn and a very loving Grumpa of Jacinta (and Jayden), Sophie, Max, and Leighton. Friend of many. At Bert's request a cremation has already been held, so a celebration of his life will be held at Betts Funeral Services, 33 North St, Timaru, on Friday, February 16, at 1.00pm, also at Bert's request this celebration is to be casual dress, no shirt and tie, please wear a Hawaiian shirt or your favourite rugby top (not compulsory), you could even wear shorts and t-shirt if you wanted. In lieu of flowers Bert would appreciate donations to the S.C. hospice, which may be left at the service. Messages to the South family C/- PO Box 772, Timaru 7940. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff and volunteers at the S.C. Hospice and Dr Rob Helliwell for all their care and support in Bert's final weeks.
