My condolences to Brent's family and extended family. My association with Brent goes back to the 60s when a number of mates left Palmerston North for the big smoke of Wellington, even though we lived in different flats, we still had time to catch up for a beer, chat, party. When we returned to Palmerston North we both got a job at Crothells in Main Street window cleaning. his presence was also cherished at my wedding and the after party went for three days and longer.

Palmerston North Karate in the 70s was such a pulsating scene. There were many dedicated and passionate sensei and karate-ka both men and women. The secret I believe was that we also engaged outside the dojo and we became a big family with many social fun activities to share. There was a great sense of belonging. At the time with the PNKS Brent was my 2 IC. He was faithful, generous, tough and fair. With such support the dojo thrived.
Over the years we have kept in touched even though I now live in Australia. We would phone Skype, tell jokes and try and solve the problems of the world. Last June I managed to visit Brent and Tina in Palmerston North which was special.
Going to miss you my friend

Very sad to hear the loss of Brent. I knew Brent for 60 years from the time we first met at Takaro School in Palmerston North. Brent was a dedicated Karate-ka and Sensei. A tough, fit fighter and hard to beat. R.I.P.

Martina & Family, sorry to hear the loss of Brent. Mates from around the '70's. He was a great guy and great with his martial arts, he also was a very good carpet/floor layer. Brent will be very sadly missed.
