Barbara KINGI Obituary
(nee Burgess): QSM
Of Feilding. Barbara passed away peacefully at Ranfurly Residential Care Centre, on Sunday 8 March 2020. Dearly loved wife of the late Rukuwai Wiripo Kingi Taituha (Bill). Loved mother of Paul Kingi (Australia). Much loved grandmother and great- grandmother to all her mokopuna in Australia. A treasured sister of Reti, and the late Rose, Sid, and George, and aunty to all her nephews and nieces. Requiem Mass for Barbara will be celebrated at St Brigid's Catholic Church, Cnr Derby Street and Monmouth Street, Feilding, on Friday 13 March at 11.00am, followed by a private family burial at Taahuhu Marae, 4993 Taraketi Road, Rata, Hunterville. Messages to the Kingi Family, c/o 29 Beattie Street, Feilding 4702.

A very special teacher at Feilding Intermediate. Mrs. Kingi (with a very young Paul) used to pick me up in Awahuri to play netball in PN. She was our coach. On a trip home from California, I had the pleasure of meeting her for coffee in 2009 along with another former student. A lovely lady. sincere condolences to the family.

Barbara will be sorely missed as she was greatly loved by all who knew her at Colyton School. She was the most caring fun wonderful teacher. Dear Paul, so sorry to hear of the passing of Mum, our sypathy to Barbara's sister, all other relatives, friends etc. I want to take this opportunity to thank Barbara for her friendship, which started at the Fielding Golf Club,for us and the opportunity I had late last year to spend a lovely time with Barbara, stories were shared and was amazing how just talking brings people so much closer together. It's lovely to hear that her passing was peaceful and our prayers go out to you all as you say goodbye. So sorry we are not going to be at her wonderful farewell, will be thinking of everyone . Sorry I am unable to say something in Maori to say good bye, may you be at peace with Bill, RIP Barbara.
