I worked with Barbara at Ministry Of Transport in Palmerston North from 1980 - 1982. This was my first ever job. Barbara was a wonderful lady, always smiling and gave me great advice. I just loved her accent. Deepest sympathies to you all. From Kate Knox (nee Ayers)

To Barbara's family. I new Barbara many years ago when she worked at the Government Computer Centre and was the secretary at the Labour Party rooms. She was exceptionally kind and arranged for my husband and I to become the caretakers of the Labour Party rooms so that we could save for the deposit on our first home - which we got by way of a ballot section and low-income/interest loan under the 2nd Labour Government. I will always remember and be thankful for Barbara and her kindness and insight into the lives and struggles of others. Farewell Barbara you will always be remembered.
