I know this comment is very belated but I just discovered that Ash passed in 2016. We worked together at the Magistrate's Court in Palmerston North in the late 1970s. He was a wonderful and thoughtful person.

Very sad to learn of Ashok's death. We were at school together, and started university in Auckland together before, weeks in, on his father's death, he had to return home to the family in Rotorua. I moved abroad and never saw him again but remember him fondly as a kind and friendly person, and wondered often how his life had developed. I'm glad he had a good family and friends, and was well loved.

So sad to hear the tragic news , I often spoke with Ash and shared fishing stories and had the privilege to fish with him in the sounds for a few nights years ago and stayed in contact with him even when I left the area .His infectious happy character will be missed by all that knew him. Rest in peace my friend and may the fish keep biting.

My heartfelt sympathies to the Dhanjee family & friends on the sudden loss of their Husband, Father & friend. I had the privilege of working with Ash at Steelfort back in the late 80's, earliy 90's. He was a joy to work with as he was always cheerful, helpful and positive and had a great work ethic. I now am lucky enough to work with his son Arun at Electrix and he is continuing his Father's legacy as being a fantastic workmate and friend.
