Ron Townsend was the student convener for Waikato Presbytery when I applied to train in late 1970. Due to his determination I was able to start at Waikato University in 1971. I was Youth leader at First Church Frankton for two years. I will always remember Ron's grace and care towards me. Well done good and faithful servant!

Deepest sympathy to the family. Rev Townsend was our marriage celebrant and MC at our wedding in Invercargill 40 years ago. We really appreciated the "classes" he held for all engaged couples prior to all weddings.
