Diane T. “Dee” Price 80, passed away on September 5, 2025 after a battle with vascular dementia, with her daughter by her side. Dee was born on April 17, 1945 and was a proud 1963 graduate of Hampton High School.
Dee worked as bank teller for many years. In 1974, she married musician and vocalist George Grove and they moved to Nashville with daughter Christy in tow. George performed at Opryland while Dee sold tickets to the Grand Ole Opry. In 1975, son Matthew was born and in 1976 George became a member of the folk group, The Kingston Trio leading them to travel around the country performing.
In 1984, Dee married Dr. Walter Price, a local pediatrician. She worked in his pediatric office until his retirement in 1992. Finally, Dee would work in the Admitting Department of Riverside Hospital, winning an Ambassador Award 10 years in a row. She truly loved helping patients.
Dee was preceded in death by her best friend and former husband, Walter Price and her beloved grandson, Lonnie Hearne. She is survived by her daughter, Christy Hearne(David); son, Brad Lindsay(Laura), and Matthew Price(Heather); as well as her two beloved grandsons, Austin and Spencer Hearne; sisters, Patsy Brown(Frank) and Jane Camp(Jim); and her dog Gatsby who now resides with son, Matthew.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 3, 2025 at St. Lukes United Methodist Church, 300 Ella Taylor Rd, Yorktown with Pastor David Bonney officiating.

Patsy, I remember going to school with Dee from the first grade at Willis to graduation at Hampton High in 1963. I am so sorry I will be out of town & won’t be able to attend her memorial service but will be thinking of you & her family.
