I have only just found this out and am absolutely devastated by the news. Alastair had become a good friend over the years since he did my hair for my first school ball when I was 15. I will miss him dearly.

I have just found out about the passing of this amazing person. He did our families hair for many years and was such an incredible person. Alastair was incredibly talented and was truly passionate about his craft. I am so sorry to hear of this loss. He talked about his family often but mostly his Nana. xx

So sorry to learn of Alastair´s death. He was my hairdresser for many years when he had Alastair Marc´s in Coleman Place. I worked with him when he was a student as well. I saw him last about a year ago when he and his aunt were walking in the Esplanade. He had his troubles at times, but he looked and seemed very good on that day.
My sympathy to all his whanau. A sweet soul, a lovely man.

Alastair you have left a gaping hole in the community. You will be so missed, which is credit to you and your talent, kindness and amazing personality. We will miss not talking about Taurus traits, snooker skills to one-day show off to your dad and how best to get out daily protein in!
It was like lovely we got to spend time with Iggy last time we were with you.
To Kaye and John, our deepest sympathy to you. You raised one heck of a fella.
RIP Alastair Marc
