Alan was our neighbour for over 50 years, until we moved on, such a kind and quiet man and always helpful. He loved to share his outdoor knowledge and drop over venison from his hunting times. Rest in peace Alan. From the Healey family.

Mr Ward!! You will be sorely missed!! What a character, comedian, witty, engaging, kind and friendly man.
Such fond memories of Mr ward as our Ag teacher. He was so chill, yet he taught us so much. He has made a positive impact on so many. In later years, I also bumped into him occasionally as an adult on bush walks/tramps in the Pohangina area and he was still the same cheerful, friendly soul I remember from school.
Condolences to the family. Such a mighty loss.
REST IN LOVE MR WARD X

Deepest Sympathy to Alan's family. Our friendship was many, many years ago now, connected with teen years and a bit later for a short while. Horse days with the late Joy McKenzie. Alan was a very caring, quiet person. RIP my old friend.

Such sad news. Mr Ward was my teacher At FAHS and I have so many fond memories of him. He made learning so enjoyable. I was lucky enough to have him on my fourth form camp and his stories while tramping kept me going. A teacher I´ll never forget.

My favourite teacher at FAHS, he was the best, intelligent, witty and engaging, a pleasure to be taught by him. He was my form teacher in my 4th form year. Rest In Peace.
