Our Deepest sympathy to the Chrystall Family, sorry we could not attend the service, Jan has recently had a hip replacement. We have very dear memories of Leita coming into the Himatangi Store with a pile of Vogue magazines from which I chose my wedding and bridesmaid dresses.
Love and prayers Tony & Jan Stella..

I met Leita when she joined Wellington Shell Club with Ian whom we knew already. She was such a lively and enthusiastic person and we soon discovered we shared a love of gardening too. I recall a happy club trip to Stewart Island when we talked as much about gardens as shells and Leita and Ian taught me about native orchids as we walked through the bush. I'm sure many others gardeners, like me, have plants from Leita in their gardens and that will continue to recall good memories. I'm sorry I couldn't attend Leita's service today but I will always remember her fondly.

A wonderful lady who was an awesome friend to my Mama, and a fabulous mentor to myself. As a child, I remember her home always being available to the young folk, especially from the church, and many a time we spent there in the garden as well as the house with Leita, Jim and the family. I so remember going out often with mum to see her, and taking 1/2 an hour to find her cause although the house was open (always) Leita would be in the garden. Well ... somewhere in the garden. And what a magical place it was - that garden. No concrete edging for her...... "Jim doesnt notice if the garden grows if we dont have an edging." And grow it did!
Oh Leita, you were an inspiration and a friend to soooo many. I know you knew how much we all loved you. Thank you for being you.
Love to the family. I remember you all so fondly.
