condolences to Kerrys family - hadnt seen that sunny smile for many a year. he was an inspiration to a lot of us dedicated fans back in the day. In spite of his national fame an success as a fierce & brilliant competitor, he was a normal friendly guy. The 60s were the best and Kerry was a 60s icon. Higgs, me, Marty, Bates & co loved the magic he always brought to Levin. Words dont do justice. Bon voyage Kerry..

We have lots of happy memories of Kerry and the good times we spent together. He always used to call in and see us at Otaki on the way back from his Wellington sales trips. Sending love to the family. Kit and Bruce Houghton

Kerry taught me to drive, the right way, straightening my lines & smooth. I remember a number of drives to Wellington over the hill in the XU1, me in the back (seat wasn't there) hanging on to the roll cage & going to sleep. We did it in 1 hour 20 mins. He was always trying to better his time. Thank you for those memories & so pleased I caught up with you a few months ago. Bye & race to the finish line x

I always looked forward to Kerry calling in for a chat, and will remember him being particularly helpful in trying to find me a car model I was after. Lovely guy, leaves great memories of his driving exploits.

I'll miss Kerry's regular weekly visit to my car yard, and the op shops will also miss his presence. I was saddened and surprised to learn of Kerry's death. For several decades he's travelled to the Hutt Valley on a Thursday to sell his wares and socialise. He was a bit of an institution down here and I extend my condolences to his loved ones. Rest easy Kerry.
