You will always be with us, the candle will stay lit in our hearts, we were privileged to be part of your life in New Plymouth my friend. I'm just sorry I was not there to say goodbye.

Jan was one of my life mentors. She was one of the most selfless people I have ever known. She was the school Principal and my teacher for forms one and two at St Columbas convent school in Frankton, Hamilton.
Jan savoured any news about "her girls" as we all grew up and went about our lives, always supportive and proud. She didn't have a discriminatory bone in her body - teaching acceptance and tolerance, to search for the truth in all things, to know our own minds, to not be afraid to stand up and be counted when others needed us. She modelled what it means to be in service, to humbly go about doing for others without judgement or prejudice. She was always steadfastly sure of where she was going when her body tired of this world and I hope as her life ended, that her beliefs remained strong and brought her comfort.
Rest in Peace with love Jan
